Calcium and Magnesium are essential elements both for nourishing crops and for balancing the soil. Inside the plant, calcium strengthens the cell walls, preventing physiopathies such as bitter pit and drying of the rachis. Calcium also balances the pH of the soil and substrates, eliminating the problems of acidic soils.
Magnesium is an essential element for the life of plants, being the central constituent of chlorophyll. Magnesium deficiency causes severe yellowing of the leaves, starting from the outer edge, and dramatically decreases production.
Dosages and methods of use
The optimal time for distribution is after autumn soil processing. If manure or other organic amendments are applied in autumn, postpone distribution until the end of February. Repeat corrections every 3 years on vegetables and every 2 years on ornamentals. Do not apply to potatoes.
In composting and manure maturation: distribute 1kg of magnesium lime for every cubic meter of compost or manure, to promote correct fermentation.
To protect the woody parts of fruit trees from the heat, apply magnesium lime-based brushing, completely whitening the trunk from the base. Magnesium lime reflects light and thus prevents sunburn.
