How to play
Preparation

• You deal out all the uncovered "Objects" cards scattered on the game board.
• You place the barrel and 10 covered "Totem" cards in the center of the table.
• You deal each player a "Flag" board.

Start of the round

1. You draw the player (host) who will start the game. He/she will draw a "Totem" card without showing it to the opponents and read or describe the totem depicted in it.
2. While the host describes the totem the other players are not allowed to touch the cards in the center of the table. When the reading/description is finished, the host kicks off the challenge, keeping the "Totem" card covered.
3. Each player must collect the cards needed to rebuild the totem pole.
4. Each player must take from the table one card at a time and place it on the "Flag" board before taking the next card.
5. If a player does not find the card needed to complete the totem pole because it has already been taken by another player, he or she must leave the space empty on the "Flag" board.
6. During the run, the game host can reread the totem description to help the players.
7. The Totem description begins with the pirate and goes on to list in order the objects above the head (from bottom to top) and those below (from top to bottom).

End of the run

The first person to complete the totem must take hold of the barrel and yell "Boarding!" The handler who read/described the totem pole will turn the card over to check the composition. If it turns out to be correct the player will win a nugget.

If the totem pole is wrong the player who shouted "To the boarding" will have to pay a lien by putting 2 nuggets of his or her own back into the initial pile. If the player has no nuggets he will accumulate a debt which he will pay off as soon as he has earned them by playing.

The prize nugget will then go to the player who has placed the most correct items, even if he has not completed the totem pole because it was interrupted by his partner's shout. In case of a tie between two or more players each will be entitled to one nugget. If no one has completed the totem pole a new round will proceed.

End of the game
Whoever, after finishing the "Totem" cards, has collected the most nuggets wins.
